God has blessed WCS tremendously in it’s first eight years.  By the end of the 2008-2009 school year, our student body had grown from the original 68 students to over 230.  The faculty consists of remarkable, gifted, certified, Christian teachers who love children and the Lord.  WCS is a vibrant and dynamic place where children are challenged academically while they are nurtured and encouraged in their spiritual development.

This growth brought WCS to a cross-road in 2007.  Our classroom space was near capacity.  A new facility was needed to meet the demands of an expanding student population.

The new campus plan includes additional classrooms, office space, and a gymnasium for assemblies, physical education, and athletics.  It also provides spacious land for playgrounds, athletic fields, parking and future expansion.  The challenge to meet this goal is great, but with a great challenge comes a great oppotunity.

We have the opportunity to establish a campus that will grow through the years and make it possible for WCS to be available to children for generations to come.  We are excited to see how far God has brought us and believe this is only the beginning of his vision for the children of Weatherford.

At WCS, our goal is to glorify God in everything that we do as we work to accomplish our mission.  This means that we emphasize the spiritual development of our students and put God at the center of everything.  Therefor, we have an obligation to strive for excellence in academics, citizenship, athletics, community service, and every other aspect of the educational process.

The $2.5 million goal of the “Foundations for the Future” and “On Wings of Angels” campaigns is to build a facility that is consistent with our obligation to excellence.  As of the beginning of the 2009-2010 school year, we have acquired the acreage, and completed the Science and Technology building which currently houses our administrative staff and Junior and Senior High students.  We have also finished the foundation and constructed the shell for the Greg Welch Gymnasium in remembrance of Staci Lee, Mandi McWhorter, Lacey Osinan, and Whitney Welch.  This facility will include classroom space for all grade levels, as well as a gym, library, music room, cafeteria, and additional administrative offices.  Our new home is located at 2300 Ranger Highway.

We understand the size of this campaign and are aware that we have taken on a formidable challenge.  But We have faith that in doing God’s work, all things are achievable, and with His blessing, we can provide the community with this valuable and much needed facility.
